The winds out of Texas
will write once again
the blue ribbon words
from his blue-ribbon pen.
They’ll sweep across the prairies
and plains of the West,
with the blue ribbon words
of one of the best.
With indelible ink
on the pages of time,
they’ll write down the words
of his blue-ribbon rhyme.
And his pen won’t be stilled.
We’ll read o'er again,
the blue ribbon words
from his blue-ribbon pen.
