Heading Home/Poem/Bette Wolf Duncan

Home again. Back home again

to haunts we used to know.
They say you can't go back again.
I know that isn't so.

They say you can't go back again.
I know that isn't true.
Though you were buried long ago,
I'm heading home to you.

Home again, across the years
to trails we used to ride
across the Bighorn Mountains...
racing side by side.

Once again my heart rides back
across the trails of time;
to where the Big Sky smiles above
and snow peaked mountains climb.

I'm riding on those trails once more-
back home again with you.
They say you can't go back again.
I know that isn't true.
