P.S. I Love You/Poem/Gina Day

P.S. I Love You

A slice of peace pie came today, quite out of the blue
The evil one had been eradicated, now buried at sea
President Bush promised us we'd catch him, though no clue
Where he was hiding or running to, nor which caves he'd be.

American military and allies were relentless, giving all
Americans united in the beginning, had drawn the line
Some tired of spending money wanted peace they'd bawl
The rest of us artist-fueled "I'll take it from here!", didn't whine.

Never give up, never give in, hoorah USA, an example to others
God is our loving power, not a demon of death bent on topping the poll
Evil has not a  place to hide, when freedom fighters have their druthers
So sad a tragedy, 9-1-1, but war eagle found its target, Seals..... did roll!

Todd Beamer, and all the many unsung heroes of that time, rest in peace
What your legacy left the future; strength, wisdom, heroic shadows, too
"Let's roll!" will live in eternity and in hearts of Americans given a new lease
Evil hid behind a woman, so reigns justice, may your names in history be in lieu.

For now when we think of all this tragedy of lives on our God-given earth
May we remember not evil, but the inspiration, leadership, others before you, too
Strike his name and image out of hearts and minds,  we honor your birth
You were here to give God the glory, "Let's roll!" replaced with, "P.S. I love you....."
